The Wings of Embrace

Oh Sonny boy, dear Sonny boy,
did you get caught in the storm?
Went out a moment ago to play
with other untainted divinities.

The thunder mustve dispersed
radially the little school band,
you mustve weathered the storm
somewhere under with a plane tree

You took your time but got back,
struggled with the gravity latch,
innocently, and only for a moment,
came round the back familiarly.

Boy, did you feel compelled to tell
‘It was only a little rain?’ How coy
of you, Sonny boy, to reassure me,
rather than the other way round.

Did I tell you sonny boy, of the Man
who said ‘It’s only but a lil’ rain’—
to be afraid don’t make one unwise
for it takes courage to be tender,

And to be tender is to hold love
that’s felt by the bravest of all
and the most untainted of all, it is —
felt now, felt then, felt eternally.

Open your wings of embrace
much like the long branches
of the plane tree that weathered
the storm which’ll come again!

A tempest that’ll affect every all
Be it winter, summer, spring or fall
Even if Heaven looks down with hate
My Sonny boy, embrace anybody mate.
